NYE & NYDay

NYE 2014

I unashamedly was taking self-timer selfies while waiting for Chris...but in my defense it is because he get SUPER IMPATIENT with the self-timer. So I had to make sure the lighting was good before I got him in from of the camera, because the clock starts ticking after the first one and there is not a lot of time for retakes! Haha

Since year one in Carbondale we have spent NYE with our dear friends, the Jordans.  The first year Mitch was still Mitch Jordan and Liz was Liz Smith, so since then it has been fun watching them get hitched!  Anyway, we spent our first NYE together eating appetizers and sipping cocktails at a co-worker's wedding.  Year two was spent with Jordans and Goodes at the Goodes' place.  We had breakfast for dinner, played card games, and accidentally watched the wrong channel for the ball to drop.  This year we again welcomed the new year with the Jordans and had the most wonderful evening!  I have gotten everyone hooked on baked brie, so of course that made an appearance, along with other snacks, goodies, and brews.  We played Cranium and I am proud to say that the ladies stole the show!  The gents made a valiant effort though, so props to them as well.

The creative juices were flowin!

                                    So serious!!!

Mitch was teasing us with the camera...this captures us whining "miiiiitch" as he was giggling on the other side of the camera.

New Years Day

What better way to start 2015 than with good friends and delicious food?  Wayne and Terry Kessinger had us over for their New Year's brunch.  Ricotta pancakes, candied bacon, cranberry biscuits, egg casserole, and homemade Irish whiskey were some of the highlights!

We left feeling satisfied in stomach and soul

Next on the agenda was a New Year's day hike with my dear friend Laura Luczkiw!  We were delighted to find frozen waterfalls on the Little Grand Canyon trail.  So beautiful!

Happy 2015 everyone!  Looking forward to what God brings us in this year!
