Christmas in Carbondale

Christmas Eve

We began Christmas Eve with a dinner with these cool cats Alex & Bethany! Chris killed it on the venison back strap, a little untraditional....but that is pretty traditional of Chris and I :-)

Appetizer spread: The best part of holiday food!  Thanks Uncle Bobby & Aunt Lynnette for getting me hooked forever on baked brie! Shout out to Ken for some awesome zucchini salsa....btw I'm out so please send more soon!  Perhaps with some summer sausage? :-)

After dinner we just chilled and occupied ourselves with taking selfies...ok let's be real, I occupied myself by taking selfies and convinced Chris to smile for a few.

Best part of Christmas, hands down, was Vine Christmas Eve Midnight Service.  It was so special to be able to worship Jesus with our Vine family.

CHRISTMAS MORNING!

Cannot function in the morning without coffee, even with a hundred presents staring at us in the face. We saved our Puerto Rican coffee we bought in the Virgin Islands, and enjoyed it with Christmas breakfast.

Never too old for Christmas morning!

We are spoiled...seriously spoiled

Good news - Chris found his pajama package. Note big bicep dude picture.

Chris and I gifted each other with the most special gift!  We both got each other ESV journal Bibles, they have margins on the sides with room to take notes about the passages or verses we are reading.  There is actually a reading plan in the back, so we are now going through the Old Testament together.  It has been really cool to share that aspect of our relationship with God with each other.

The following pictures give example as to how my mother uniquely wraps and labels presents :-)
It was awesome!

Here are some pictures of just general present opening:

All in all, such a WONDERFUL Christmas.  We are beyond blessed by our Vine family, and Oregon family, and Christmas was a cool opportunity to thank Jesus for coming to save us and for all that He is doing for in us and for us now.
